Kamala Beach located about 15 kilometres North of Patong Beach on Phuket island (map of Kamala locations) provides a haven for those who prefer the quieter life. "Rim Haad" roughly translates to 'on the beach', and is the name of a road in Kamala at the South end, there are a number of small 20 - 30 room hotels for the low - medium budget traveller.

Kamala has friendly service with a village feel, diverse restaurants and small bars can be found on this small road. Whether it's a Thai massage an Italian meal or just a traditional Thai dish it can all be found at Kamala at reasonable prices. Accommodation is also at budget prices

Cheaper food options can be found in small restaurants and market stalls on the main Kamala Road. There are also more interesting restaurants starting to appear on the main road including the Argintinian Steakhouse with live jazz entertainment.
