COOLANGATTA, Australia (Thursday, June 26, 2008) – Reigning ASP World Junior Champion Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS), 17-years old, has made ASP history by securing enough ratings points on the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) to qualify for the 2009 ASP Women’s World Tour well before the halfway point this season – a feat that has never been accomplished by any surfer (male or female) in history.

JEFFREYS BAY, South Africa (Thursday, July 10, 2008) – There was no shortage of standout surfing in Round 1 of the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay, but it was ASP World Tour veteran Taylor Knox (USA) who stole the show in perfect four to six foot (one to two metre) waves in South Africa today.

BIARRITZ, France (Wednesday, July 16, 2008) – Joy Monahan (Oahu,HAW), 22, became the 2008 Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Women’s World Longboard Champion today after winning the Roxy Jam event at La Cote des Basques in Biarritz. Monahan, who defeated runner-up Chelsea Williams (Gold Coast, AUS) in an exciting 30-minute final, posted a solid 14.10 point heat tally (out of a possible 20) to secure her first world crown in front of a cheering crowd.
