Billabong’s Design For Humanity

Now in its 5th year, Design For Humanity is Billabong’s charitable initiative which has become an opportunity not only for Billabong but for retailers, athletes, celebrities, artists and ultimately attendees to give back.
All proceeds are being donated to The VH1 Save the Music Foundation who are dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in public schools. To date, the Foundation has provided more than $47 million in new musical instruments to 1,750 public schools in more than 100 cities, impacting the lives of over 1.6 million children.

ARUGAM BAY, Sri Lanka (Sunday, September 4, 2011) – Duane Dusoto (HAW) reigning ASP World Longboard Champion maintains his world number one ranking after taking out today’s SriLankan Airlines Pro final over Taylor Jensen (USA). The pair battled for the title in clean 4 to 5 foot (2 meter) surf at Arugam Bay point.

“I’m on top of the world baby!” Dusoto said. “This is a dream come true, this is what we work so hard for. The waves here have been amazing, it’s never been flat and we had the best surf in the final, it was perfect. Kai Lenny just won the final event of the Stand Up World Tour at Honoli’i Beach Park on the island of Hawaii. Kai’s dream became a reality with this contest; winning each heat from beginning to end. Heat after heat, Kai’s strength and confidence grew, showing the crowd his potential. By winning the first SUP World Wave title ever, Kai Lenny joins the legends of water sports.

From March 19 to 26 Australia will see a huge contingent of kneeboard surfers converging at Phillip Island for the ISA 2011 World Kneeboard Titles. This is the first time that Phillip Island hosts this event. The Island has a long history of kneeboard surfing.
