Mitch Coleborn Wins the Oakley Pro Junior Title at Lacanau

LACANAU, France (August 13, 2006) – The last day of the Oakley Junior Pro started at 8.30 AM this morning in very clean conditions, with the sun spreading its beautiful light from the East. Some 2/3 ft glassy hollow sections were the first opportunities of the day for our last 32 surfers of the event, and the show went on fast as Alex Grey (Usa) opened the heat with a 7+ score to show his opponents he could go really far. The water has gone really cold but the waves are better than the two last days. Ill just take it one after the other and keep on surfing this way, as its been working out for me so far, said Alex.The heats kept on offering an impressive level through the round of 32, huge clashes happening at the outside and lots of struggle that unfortunately ended with some interference calls.… Read the rest

QUIKSILVER STEPS UP ISA JUNIORS SUPPORT

ISA Junior World Champs earn chance to surf in WCT events
26 July 2006 Quiksilver will step up its support of the International Surfing Association’s (ISA) junior program by creating a fast track for Under 18 boys and Under 18 girls to participate in the worldwide Quiksilver and Roxy
ASP World Championship Tour (WCT) events.

Gold medalists in both Under 18 divisions at the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship will automatically be given a spot in the trials and expression sessions at all Quiksilver and Roxy WCT events over a 12-month period. Quiksilver will pay all their expenses, including airfare and accommodation.The other division contested at the Quiksilver ISA WJSC is the U16 boys and their gold medalist will receive a US$2,000 ASP credit from Quiksilver to be put towards membership fees, event entry fees or travel insurance to participate in junior events around the world for one year.… Read the rest
