(Carlsbad, CA)- November 23rd, 2010 -The 6 Star Prime 2010 Reef Hawaiian Pro has come to a close but the first gem of the Van’s Triple Crown has left an indelible mark on the North Shore this winter season.

Global Miss Reef’s running a muck, legendary rivalries re-uniting, star studded heats with world champs, local Hawaiian heroes and a monster comeback victory from a Cooly Kid were just a few of the highlights. CULS NUS BEACH, Hossegor/France (Saturday, October 2, 2010) –Mick Fanning (AUS), 29, reigning ASP World Champion, claimed his second, consecutive Quiksilver Pro France today, defeating fellow finalist, former nine-time ASP World Champion and current ASP World No. 1, Kelly Slater (USA), 38, in pumping six-to-eight foot (2.5 metre) barrels at Les Culs Nus Beach.Event No. 7 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Quiksilver Pro France culminated in dramatic fashion today with a bevy of high-scoring rides amidst the treacherous conditions, and it was the Australian besting the American in a hard-fought Final.… Read the rest

Over 200 competitors from twelve countries will gather at Phillip Island, Victoria, from 19 to 26 March for the 2011 edition of the ISA World Kneeboard Titles, the discipline’s most prestigious championship.

The weeklong event is held every two years, with previous events in New Zealand, USA, Tahiti and South Africa. The competition, fully sanctioned by the ISA, will crown the World Champions in the Open division as well as the age divisions that range from Under 16 to Over 60.Kneeboarders from Australia, New Zealand, USA, England, Ireland, France, Tahiti, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, South Africa, Canada and Japan will compete for the world titles and the honor of their countries.

This is the first time that wave-rich Phillip Island will host a World Kneeboard Title event.… Read the rest

-Alana Blanchard’s 2011 calendar just got a little busier since her impressive showing at the 2010 Cholo’s Hawaiian Pro, the first stop of the prestigious Van’s Triple Crown of Surfing.

Thanks to a third place finish, Alana has officially qualified for a seat on the 2011 ASP Women’s World Tour. Alana’s first quest for an ASP victory will take place February 26th-March 9th on the Gold Coast of Australia for the Roxy Pro.Alana Blanchard commented, “I honestly didn’t even know I could qualify. I’m actually glad I didn’t know, so I could just focus on surfing well in the finals. I’m really excited for Sunset, and to get back on the world tour.”
