LOBITOS, Piura/Peru (Thursday, November 5, 2009) – Round 1 of the Movistar Peru Classic presented by Rip Curl was completed today in clean two-foot (1 metre) waves at Lobitos.

search is continuing for an Irishman who went missing while surfing off the coast of Thailand earlier this week.

Michael O’Brien (24) from Templeogue in Dublin has not been seen since Tuesday when he went surfing around Koh Pahngan island.

A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said: “The department has been providing consular assistance through our consulate in Bangkok and their embassy in Malaysia to his family.

“Efforts to locate Mr O’Brien are continuing and to our knowledge no body has yet been recovered.”

The Longboard Vineyards Tasting Room in Healdsburg will reveal its latest surfing-themed wine while hosting the acclaimed photography exhibition “Maverick’s: Everest of the Seas,” featuring the award-winning images of some of action sports’ best lensmen.
