SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal (Friday, October 19, 2012) – Julian Wilson (AUS), 23, has claimed his maiden ASP World Championship Tour (WCT) victory today, besting a rampaging Gabriel Medina (BRA), 18, in the dying seconds of the Rip Curl Pro Portugal.

Stop No. 8 of 10 on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal played host to pivotal moments in the hunt for the 2012 ASP World Title as well as today’s dramatic culmination between two rising superstars.

COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Wednesday, November 7, 2012) – Event No. 9 of 10 on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the O’Neill Coldwater Classic at Santa Cruz’s Steamer Lane, has been completed and won by Taj Burrow (AUS), 34.

Heading into the final event of the season, the Billabong Pipe Masters, three surfers remain mathematically in contention for the 2012 ASP World Title: Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, Kelly Slater (USA), 40, and Mick Fanning (AUS), 31.

Due to the altered format for the Billabong Pipe Masters, all three surfers will automatically be seeded into Round 3 of competition and finish no worse than Equal 13th (1750 points).

Kelia Moniz Claims ASP Women’s World Longboard Title at the SWATCH Girls Pro China

WANNING, Hainan Island/China (Sunday, November 25, 2012) – Kelia Moniz (HAW) has won the SWATCH Girls Pro China 2012 hosted by Wanning over Chelsea Williams (AUS), claiming her maiden ASP Women’s World Longboard Title. The pair repeated history by meeting in the Final as they did at last year’s SWATCH Girls Pro China, where Williams won, but today it was Moniz who took top honours.

Moniz is the second ASP World Champion crowned in China and is a well deserved winner after consistently posting excellent scores all event, but the Final was her most dominant heat by far.
