COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, February 16, 2010) – The 2010 ASP World Tour season is just weeks from commencing with the world’s best surfers descending upon the idyllic coastal town of Coolangatta for the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover.

COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Monday, February 8, 2010) – With the completion of the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships fueled by Monster Energy earlier this month (won by Maxime Huscenot (REU) and Laura Enever (AUS) respectively), ASP International has confirmed the activation of the ASP World Junior Tour (WJT).“The WJT is a natural development for the ASP and serves as recognition for Billabong’s vision and long-standing support for world junior surfing and for the sheer and immense surfing talent we now have coming through the ranks,” Brodie Carr, ASP International CEO, said.… Read the rest

Big Wednesday…..the day was certainly true to the forecast, as we were greeted by 12 – 15 ft solid west swell this morning at Sunset Beach for the 2nd day of the Sunset Beach Pro, presented by Red Nose, the first stop on the Stand Up World Tour for 2010. Stand Up World Tour officials monitored the conditions from daybreak until the judges meeting to assess the viability of putting the athletes out there in what was definitely ridable, but, without doubt, extremely challenging conditions.After consulting the advisory board and the riders committee, it was decided to go for it: the goal with the Stand Up World Tour is to showcase the outer limits of the sport and the most visually dynamic and exciting action possible….what… Read the rest

The first official day of competition has run at the 2010 Turbo Bodyboards Pipeline Pro Presented by Body Glove.

This multi-cultural bodyboarding event attracts competitors from all four corners of the globe, with Brazil, USA, France, Australia, Israel, South Africa and Canada among the many.

Waves were large in the 6 to 8 feet range and winds varied from light offshore to strong cross shore, pushing the riders in a variety of testing waves.

Drew Innocend of Queensland Australia, was the most impressive surfer of the day.

Innocend notched up a 17.60 combined wave total in his round three heat, the highest of the day. This included a near perfect 9.83 score for being spat out

of a huge Backdoor Barrell and launching into a massive backflip. All of Innocend’s waves were executed with a beautiful precision.… Read the rest
