COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, December 22, 2009) – With a historic 2009 coming to a close, the 2010 ASP schedule has been released and will mark some major shifts in venues and dates in order to ensure that the world’s best surfers battle one another in the world’s best waves.“2010 will mark some major changes for professional surfing and the schedule reflects this,” Brodie Carr, ASP International CEO, said. “We’re moving dates of certain venues to ensure that we get the best possible surf as well as adding landmark new events. PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Monday, December 8, 2009) – The Billabong Pipeline Masters, Event No. 10 of 10 on the 2009 ASP World Tour, has called a lay day today, with unruly 20-foot (7 metre) seas closing out the famed break at the Banzai Pipeline.

Surfline, official forecasters for the Billabong Pipeline Masters, are calling for today’s fetch of swell to slowly decline over the next several days meaning there will be plenty of surf on offer to kickstart the final event of the 2009 ASP World Tour season.… Read the rest

COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, January 5, 2010) – The world’s best junior surfers are descending upon the Sydney suburb of North Narrabeen to hunt down the most prestigious crown in junior surfing, the ASP World Junior Title, as the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships prepare to run at the famed beachbreak from January 9 – 17, 2010.

The Billabong Pro Maui is not only critical to surfers’ campaigns on the bubble for requalification for the 2010 ASP Women’s World Tour, but is also the final stop on the prestigious Vans Triple Crown.The Billabong Pro Maui Trials will kick off this morning’s action and will see top up-and-comer Carissa Moore (HAW), 17, who claimed the last event on the ASP Women’s World Tour at Sunset Beach, battle for a spot in the main event against fellow trialists Felicity Palmateer, Paige Alms, Monyca Byrne-Wickey, Lani Doherty and Kati Minami.
