TEAHUPOO, Tahiti (Friday, May 1, 2009) – The Billabong Pro Teahupoo, stop No. 3 of 10 on the 2009 ASP World Tour, will host the world’s best surfers from May 9 – 20, 2009, with a slew of ASP World Champions looking to capitalize at the infamous venue.

TEAHUPOO, Tahiti (Wednesday, May 13, 2009) – The Billabong Pro Tahiti presented by Air Tahiti Nui is back on with clean three-to-four foot (1.5 metre) waves breaking at Teahupoo. The final day of Cobra D’Água Bodyboarding Show Bahia 2009 took place in better conditions than yesterday, but the wind and rain made life difficult for the riders. The waves were bigger than yesterday (3-4 ft) and the crowd filled Armação Beach.

Guilherme Tâmega and Eunate Aguirre won the event and now both are leading the IBA World Ranking. Guilherme defeated Eder Luciano from Brazil while Eunate defeated Mayllae Venturin.

Perfect conditions on Estaleirinhos Beach today. Good waves with 4-6 ft and no wind, the beach was crowd and the bodyboarders got a huge show to everybody here.The day started with the Men’s quarter finals and the heats were amazing. Things are shaping up very nicely indeed for the first ever IBA World Tour event in Peru and Jose’ Ugarte and his team are very excited to showcase some of the waves that this part of the world has to offer.

” There are a few different venues that we believe can be used for the contest” says Jose’

” And all of them are perfect for bodyboarding. We already have some of the world best riders confirmed and the whole of Lima already is talking about the contest”” The cost of staying here is only a few dollars per night and the food is very cheap so this will be good for the competitors” added Jose’
