ARICA, Chile (Thursday, June 20, 2007) – Only seven heats of the Rip Curl Pro Chile, stop No. 4 of 10 on the 2007 Foster’s ASP World Tour, were run today, but near perfect rides were ridden in four of them.

TEAHUPOO, Tahiti (Friday, May 4th, 2007) – All but one of the biggest names in pro surfing made it through their Round 1 Billabong Pro Tahiti heats today. Perennial favorites Kelly Slater (USA), Andy Irons (HAW), Mick Fanning (AUS) and Joel Parkinson (AUS) advanced to Round 3. Taj Burrow (AUS) who sits current equal No. 1 on the Foster’s ASP World Tour ratings aside Fanning was not so lucky.Burrow, who drew Teahupoo specialist and Billabong Pro Tahiti wildcard Bruno Santos (PYF) and French rookie Jeremy Flores, finished second in the three man heat and will now have to negotiate Round 2 to stay in contention for a Billabong Pro crown.

ARICA, Chile (Thursday, June 28, 2007) – Defending Rip Curl Pro Search champion Andy Irons (HAW) found the form to grab another globe-shaped trophy with his win over Damien Hobgood (USA) in Arica, Chile today.“They’re the best trophies – they’re epic,” Irons said. “They’re my favorite trophy and I’ve got one for the living room and one for the mantle now.”

The former 3X Foster’s ASP World Champion bested Hobgood 16.84 to 8.67 in the four foot (1.3 metre) waves off Ex Isla Alacran.

TEAHUPOO, Tahiti (Friday, May 11, 2007) –Foster’s ASP World Tour surfers relegated to the first eight heats of Round 2 donned Billabong Pro Tahiti jerseys for the first time in a week today, Friday, May 11, 2007.

Teahupoo, a wave where wildcards typically do well, proved more suited to Foster’s 45 competitors this afternoon with top-seeded surfers eliminating each of the four event wildcards in the three foot (one metre) waves on offer.Damien Hobgood’s (USA) convincing elimination of local wildcard Hira Teriinatoofa (PYF) earned him a Round 3 berth and the highest heat total of the day – a 17.36 out of 20.00.

The international field sees surfers from as far a field as Japan, Tahiti, USA, Australia, Brazil and Hawaii battling it out with local European hopes from Spain, Great Britain and, of course, France.
