ALANA BLANCHARD QUALIFIES FOR THE 2011 DREAM TOUR

-Alana Blanchard’s 2011 calendar just got a little busier since her impressive showing at the 2010 Cholo’s Hawaiian Pro, the first stop of the prestigious Van’s Triple Crown of Surfing.
Thanks to a third place finish, Alana has officially qualified for a seat on the 2011 ASP Women’s World Tour. Alana’s first quest for an ASP victory will take place February 26th-March 9th on the Gold Coast of Australia for the Roxy Pro.Alana Blanchard commented, “I honestly didn’t even know I could qualify. I’m actually glad I didn’t know, so I could just focus on surfing well in the finals. I’m really excited for Sunset, and to get back on the world tour.”
Alana’s spot on the ASP Women’s World Tour isn’t the only exciting event on the horizon. Alana has the 2010 Surfer Poll Awards in December where she will defend her spot as the one of the top 5 most popular women surfers on Earth. She also will be portrayed in the new movie Soul Surfer based on the life of her best friend, Bethany Hamilton. Lorraine Nicholson, daughter of Academy Award Winner Jack Nicholson, will play Alana in the film that will premiere in April of 2011.
Alana will also be featured prominently as the face of Reef’s 2011 footwear marketing campaign that will be seen in major print publications such as People Style Watch and throughout point of sale displays in key Reef accounts around the world.
