HEADLINE: AUSTRALASIA’S TOP BODYBOARDERS BACK IN PORT MAC

(Town Beach, Port Macquarie, NSW, Sunday September 14) For the fourth and final year the Human Australasian Titles and Human Port Mac Pro presented by QCD will be back in the Australian bodyboarding capital of Port Macquarie. The revamped 7 day event sees the best Australian and New Zealand bodyboarders, in both professional and amateur divisions, vying it out to be the 2008 champion in their respective divisions.

The event brings together over three hundred bodyboarders in what is best described as the largest bodyboarding festival in Australia.

IBA Australasia General Manager Terry McKenna says that this year it’s all about the bodyboarding.

“Port Mac has been an amazing host for this event over the past three years, while this will be the last time for a little while that the event will be held here, I am looking forward to going out with a bang and some seeing some seriously amazing bodyboarding through out the week” Terry said.

“The event will be completely mobile, allowing us to utilise the best surfing conditions along this coastline”

The forecast for the first part of the week looks very promising with official event forecaster Swellnet predicting clean and contestable conditions, in the 3 foot range.

The event kicks off Monday the 15th with the juniors hitting the water first, allowing them enough time to head back to school for the week for exams, with all of the finals action plus the start of the pro event kicking up for the following weekend.
The Human Port Mac Pro will wind up a massive year of competition on the Human Pro Tour and the combined presentation night will be on Sunday night 21st September at 7pm.

There will be a live stream on swellnet.com.au as the pro’s hit the water in 2008, so log on to the live web stream to see all the action unfold.

Competitors are to meet at Town beach carpark at 7am for a possible 8am start with the Juniors only.
