Surfing in Asia Pacific
The Asia Pacific region has a wide range of surf conditions, from world-class reef breaks in Indonesia to beginner-friendly beach breaks in Thailand and seasonal waves in Malaysia and Taiwan. Some areas are driven by monsoon or storm swell, while others receive more consistent surf through the year.
Indonesia is known for some of the best surf in the world, while places like Thailand and Malaysia are usually smaller, warmer and more forgiving. Australia, of course, has just about everything — beach breaks, points, reefs, crowds, sharks, legends, and the odd bloke who reckons every wave was better in 1978.
