District 1 is the most convenient base for many first-time visitors to Ho Chi Minh City. Restaurants, shopping, colonial-era buildings and taxis are all close by. Peace and quiet, not always so much.

Agoda lists this as Hon Tam Resort, with the former name MerPerle Hon Tam Resort. This is a good example of why old hotel pages need a tidy-up now and then.

Vietnam is not really a one-hotel-page country. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are better for city stays, Hue and Da Lat suit history and slower travel, Phan Thiet and Nha Trang are more beach focused, and the Mekong Delta is a different trip again.
