Kamala Beach General information

Kamala Beach located about 15 kilometres travel North of Patong Beach on Phuket island (Map of Kamala) provides a haven for those who prefer the quieter life.

"Rim Haad" roughly translates to 'on the beach', and is the name of a road in Kamala at the South end, there are a number of small 20-30 room hotels for the low-medium budget travelers in Kamala.

Kamala has friendly service with a village feel, diverse restaurants and small bars can be found on this small road. Whether it's a Thai massage an Italian meal or just a traditional Thai dish it can all be found at Kamala at reasonable prices. Kamala resort accommodation can also be found at budget prices too.

Cheaper food options can be found in small restaurants and market stalls on the main Kamala Road.

There are also more interesting restaurants starting to appear on the main road of Kamala including entertainment and a few bars and restaurants.

Kamala is also home to the famous Phuket Fantasea which holds nightly shows, definitely a must see while you are here

Though the Southern end of Kamala beach can get busy in the high season, a tip is the North end of Kamala Beach is peaceful all year round.

A great place to relax on the beach, go surfing and snorkeling in the months of November to March. Small restaurants and beach chairs for rent are again appearing at this end of Kamala beach making a day in the Phuket sun bliss. Some major hotels and developments are also going ahead now at this end of the beach
