Rawai, Nai Harn, Chalong & Cape Panwa Hotels
This page covers a bit of a mixed bag around the south of Phuket: Rawai, Nai Harn, Chalong and Cape Panwa. These areas are quite different from each other, so it is worth checking the map before booking. Nai Harn is the main beach area, Rawai is more of a local seafront and seafood area, Chalong is a boat harbour and inland base, and Cape Panwa is quieter and more tucked away on the east/south-east side.
This page is a south Phuket accommodation guide, with a mix of beach resorts, villa-style stays, wellness retreats and quieter hotels away from the busier west coast tourist areas. Handy if you want the south of the island.

Chalong and Inland South Phuket Hotels
Suuko Villas
(formerly listed here as Sukko Cultural Spa & Wellness Resort)
Suuko Villas is an inland wellness-style retreat in the Chalong area, rather than a beach hotel. It suits travellers who want a quiet villa stay, spa treatments and a greener setting away from the busier beach roads. This is not the place to book if you want to walk out of the room and straight onto the sand.
The location can work well if you have transport and want to explore Chalong, Rawai, Nai Harn and the southern end of Phuket. It is more about space, peace and a retreat-style stay than beach convenience. Check the current room details and map carefully before booking.
Location: Chalong / Vichit area, Phuket
Rising Sun Residence
(Chalong hillside villa-style stay)
Rising Sun Residence is a villa-style property in the Chalong hills. It is not a beach hotel, but it can suit families or groups who want more space and do not mind being inland. This area is useful if you have a car or motorbike and want to explore different parts of south Phuket.
Chalong is handy for boat trips, gyms, Muay Thai training, Big Buddha access and driving toward Rawai or Nai Harn. It is not the best choice if you want a classic beach holiday with everything walkable. Think more hillside base than beach resort.
Location: Chalong, Phuket
Villa Zolitude Resort & Spa
(luxury hillside pool villas in Chalong)
Villa Zolitude Resort & Spa is a higher-end pool villa resort hidden in the Chalong hills. It is a good one to check if you want privacy, trees, views and a slower retreat-style holiday rather than a busy beach resort.
This is not a walk-to-the-beach location, so it works best if you are happy using transport or mostly relaxing at the resort. It can be a lovely choice for couples or travellers who want a quiet villa stay, but it would be a strange pick if your main plan is to wander to the beach every morning with a towel over your shoulder.
Location: Chalong hillside, Phuket
Nai Harn Hotels
Naiya Buree Resort at Nai Harn Beach
(Nai Harn / Rawai area)
Naiya Buree Resort is a lower to mid-range option in the Nai Harn and Rawai area. It is not directly on Nai Harn Beach, but it can be useful if you want to stay in the south of Phuket and explore Nai Harn, Rawai, Ya Nui and nearby viewpoints.
This area is better with transport, especially if you want to move between beaches, restaurants and shops. It can suit independent travellers who want a quieter Phuket base and are not chasing the busy west coast hotel strips.
Location: Nai Harn / Rawai area, Phuket
Naiharn Beach Resort
(formerly listed here as All Seasons Naiharn Phuket)
Naiharn Beach Resort is the updated listing for the old All Seasons Naiharn Phuket entry. It is one of the more convenient options if you want to stay close to Nai Harn Beach without going into the higher-end luxury range.
Nai Harn is one of Phuket’s nicer beaches, especially if you want a quieter beach feel than Kata or Patong. In surf season it can also pick up waves, but conditions vary and it is not always beginner friendly. Check the current hotel details and exact location before booking.
Location: Nai Harn Beach, Phuket
The Nai Harn
(formerly The Royal Phuket Yacht Club)
The Nai Harn is one of the best-known luxury hotels in the south of Phuket, sitting above Nai Harn Bay with wide sea views. Older travellers may remember it as The Royal Phuket Yacht Club, but it now operates as The Nai Harn.
This is a higher-end stay, and the location is the real draw. Nai Harn Beach is just below, with Rawai, Ya Nui and Promthep Cape nearby. It suits travellers who want a quieter luxury beach base rather than the busier hotel strips further north.
Location: Nai Harn Beach, Phuket
Two Villas Holiday Phuket – Nai Harn
(private villa-style stays around Nai Harn / Rawai)
Two Villas Holiday Phuket offers private villa-style accommodation around the Nai Harn and Rawai area. This can be a good option for families, couples or groups who want more space, a private pool and a quieter base than a normal hotel room.
These villa-style stays are usually better if you have transport or are happy using taxis. The upside is privacy and space; the downside is that you may not be walking straight to the beach or restaurants. Check the exact villa location carefully before booking.
Location: Nai Harn / Rawai area, Phuket
Rawai Hotels
Serenity Resort & Residences Phuket
(Rawai beachfront / seafront area)
Serenity Resort & Residences Phuket is a seafront-style stay in Rawai. Rawai is not really a classic swimming beach like Nai Harn or Kata, but it is a good base for restaurants, island trips, long-tail boats and exploring the southern end of Phuket.
This can suit travellers who want sea views and a quieter south Phuket base rather than a busy beach-resort strip. If you want a proper swimming beach, plan on visiting Nai Harn, Ya Nui or other nearby beaches during the day.
Location: Rawai, Phuket
The Vijitt Resort Phuket
(Rawai villa-style resort)
The Vijitt Resort Phuket is a villa-style resort in Rawai, set in a quieter seafront area rather than on a busy swimming beach. It is a good one to check if you want a more relaxed resort stay, with space and a slower south Phuket feel.
Rawai is useful for seafood, boat trips, island hopping and exploring Nai Harn, Ya Nui and Promthep Cape. It is less useful if your idea of a holiday is walking out of the hotel onto perfect swimming sand every morning. For that, stay closer to Nai Harn.
Location: Rawai, Phuket
Cape Panwa Hotels
By The Sea Residence
(Cape Panwa / Ao Yon area)
By The Sea Residence is in the Cape Panwa and Ao Yon area, on the quieter side of Phuket. This part of the island is very different from Patong, Kata or Karon. It is more peaceful and more local, but you will probably want transport if you plan to explore.
This can be a good choice if you want a quiet sea-view stay and do not need nightlife or a busy tourist strip. The beaches around Panwa can be pretty, but they are not the same surf-and-swim setup as the west coast beaches.
Location: Cape Panwa / Ao Yon, Phuket
Kantary Bay Hotel Phuket
(Cape Panwa village area)
Kantary Bay Hotel Phuket is a comfortable option around Cape Panwa, useful if you want a quieter base and do not need to stay on the busier west coast beaches. Cape Panwa has a more relaxed, tucked-away feel, with a few restaurants and sea views rather than a big nightlife strip.
This area can suit longer stays, families or travellers who want a calmer side of Phuket. It is less convenient if you plan to spend every day in Patong, Kata or Bang Tao, so check driving times before booking.
Location: Cape Panwa, Phuket
Cape Panwa Hotel
(classic Cape Panwa resort)
Cape Panwa Hotel is one of the classic resort options in the Cape Panwa area. It is a good one to check if you want a quieter resort holiday away from the main west coast beach towns, with more of a private, old-school Phuket feel.
The location suits people who want to relax at the resort and explore locally, rather than travel back and forward across the island every day. If you want nightlife, shopping and surf beaches at your doorstep, this is probably the wrong side of Phuket. If you want peace, it may be just the thing.
Location: Cape Panwa, Phuket
Sri Panwa Phuket
(luxury pool villas at Cape Panwa)
Sri Panwa Phuket is one of the most high-end resort choices around Cape Panwa, known for luxury pool villas and big sea views. It is not a budget hotel and it is not trying to be one. This is more of a special-occasion, hideaway-style stay.
The location is quiet and removed from the busier beach towns, which is either the appeal or the problem depending on what you want. If you want nightlife and busy streets, stay elsewhere. If you want privacy, views and a resort you may not want to leave, this is the sort of place to compare.
Location: Cape Panwa, Phuket
Coral Island
Coral Island Resort
(on Coral Island, reached by boat from Chalong)
Coral Island Resort is not on Phuket island itself. It is on Coral Island, reached by boat from the Chalong area. This makes it a very different type of stay from the Rawai, Nai Harn or Panwa hotels above.
It can suit travellers who want an island escape and are happy being away from the main Phuket roads, shops and nightlife. Before booking, check transfer arrangements, current facilities and recent photos carefully. Island stays can be beautiful, but they are not as flexible as staying on the mainland when you suddenly realise you forgot something useful.
Location: Coral Island, off Chalong, Phuket
South Phuket works best if you choose the area carefully. Nai Harn is the strongest beach choice, Rawai is good for seafood and island trips, Chalong is practical for boats and inland access, and Cape Panwa is quieter and more resort-focused.
