Surfing on Koh Lanta

Surfing Koh Lanta

More Information

The best surf spot on Koh Lanta island is Klong Dao Beach. It is a big bay, approximately 2 km long, with shallow sandy bottom. There are several sand bars that get nice waves and reports say that it can hold a swell up to 3 to 4 meters before becoming completely unrideable.

The northern end of Klong Dao Beach also has rideable waves near Laem Kho Kwang and is a good spot to head when the surf is big. In general though, Koh Lanta is suited for longboards, stand up paddleboards and beginners as the waves on average are about waist high.
