Reached out via email and booked a 2 hour group surfing lesson on a Sunday from 10am to 12pm. The owner Rick replied quickly and was helpful in providing information on directions to the shop and the surrounding area near the beach. The lesson was informative and safe, that I booked another lesson for the next day.
Upon arrival at the shop, was given a quick rundown of the day, made payment (either cash or card), and we made our way down to the beach. As the weather was slighty dark that day, Rick and his assistant drove us to another beach further south which he informed us were better for learning. Surfboards and rashguards were included in the lesson.
As a new learner, the lesson started out with a 15 minute theory lesson on the beach. An orientation to the surfboard, what surfing is, dangers of riptides, body positioning while on the surfboard, and getting up from the surfboard. The rest of the lesson was spent in the water, where Rick guided us to improve our surfing! He also answered many of my questions on surfing, really showing the experience that he has.
