Surfing Mai Khao Beach

More Information
The Surf at Mai Khao Beach (White Wood)
Mai Khao beach is the longest beach on Phuket at 9km (5 ½ miles). A white sand beach that protected as part of the Nai Yang National Park. Camping is allowed but there are few facilities.
New resorts are popping up in this area regularly like the JW Marriott resort. If you are looking for an isolated beach to have all to yourself this is it. The surf here is very inconsistent and the steep drop off when you are in the water creates big shore breaks, but not much more.

Sirinat National Park was declared a national park in 1981. This park has one of the last mangrove areas on the island. It is a small park with only a few facilities. The sand banks shift often making surf reports and conditions difficult to comment on. There are also steep drop offs from the beach.
Surfing Sai Kaew Beach (white sand) Runs from Mai Kao to the Sarasin Bridge. Phuket’s most northern beach. At the far northern end near the Sarasin bridge are a few inexpensive restaurants that serve excellent food. There are waves to be had at the outlet from Phang Nga bay. Tides and conditions vary, but reports of good waves come regularly from here.
